If you are a Catholic, you know that Ash Wednesday is the start of the Lenten Season. Having gone to a Catholic school, we were taught to practice fasting and abstinence on Ash Wednesday, and all Fridays before Easter Sunday. This means not eating meat and giving up something you like or usually enjoy doing as part of your sacrifice and repentance.
